While many people choose to be defined by their surroundings and environment, Kenise Lynn, author and entrepreneur, has used those very surroundings as steppingstones to her success. On a mission to break racial, cultural and economical barriers, she seeks to dispel the negative myths associated with Detroit, and surrounding cities, as she serves as a beacon of hope and help wherever she goes. As the first girl to play on an all-boy football team in the city of Inkster, called the Inkster Raiders, Kenise has the mental, emotional and physical toughness of a giant—and empowers others to live the same way. 
What started as a simple love for writing at the tender age of seven when her uncle Charles played the keyboard or guitar has blossomed into a full career as an author. While he played the instruments, she would sing the songs he’d written, empowering her to write her own songs. Those writings soon turned from songs and rap lyrics, to poems, then stories up to this present day in the form of books. As an Advanced Placement English student in high school, and a college volunteer in many English classrooms around southwest Detroit, Kenise was destined to become a successful author. Even after a car accident tried to derail her aspirations, she pressed forward and was determined not to let anything stand in her way of accomplishing her dreams of writing. 
As the owner of Lynn Production, LLC, Kenise is committed to promoting authors and their books who otherwise may go unheard. The apples not falling far from the tree, Kenise is also working with her children to write and publish their own books. Outside of the stories she writes, Kenise is a mentor to many teens and peers. As a daughter of teen parents, not only does Kenise know what’s it like to have a father in and out of prison. But she understands, and has overcome, the battles that come with depression and anxiety, being a wife and working woman, and being a full-time mother. Through her writings, she inspires other women to never give up and know the totality of their self-worth. 
    Kenise obtained a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan and has worked in the healthcare field for more than seven years. As the person who will be there for everyone, no matter the hour, she holds a special place in her heart for people in need. Known for getting things done and getting them done correctly the first time, Kenise is a loving, outgoing person who loves sports, and has a strong passion for family and traveling.
